EO Charging Selected by Augusta Transit to Electrify Bus Depot with $12 Million Bus and Bus Facilities Grant
Greenville, SC - 21, August 2024 - EO Charging "EO", a global pioneer in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions for depot-based fleets, proudly announces its selection by Augusta Transit to spearhead the electrification of its bus depot. This initiative follows Augusta Transit's $12 million award from the Federal Transit Administration's Bus and Bus Facilities grant program. The funds will be used to purchase six clean-energy battery electric buses, charging equipment, infrastructure, and a bus simulator for workforce training. As part of this project, EO's Charge Assurance Solution will ensure >99% uptime, providing comprehensive support and technology to guarantee a seamless and efficient charging experience for the new fleet. These new buses will offer riders a quieter, safer, and more reliable transit experience.
Augusta Transit is so excited and grateful to be awarded Bus and Bus Facilities grant funds. We will move from the first five (5) electric buses due to arrive in 2025 to an additional six (6) arriving in 2027. We continue to propel our clean energy initiative forward while playing a major role in workforce development by the purchase of a 360 degree bus operator training simulator. EO Charging will deliver a comprehensive turnkey service encompassing the design, construction, installation, and ongoing operations and maintenance of Augusta Transit's EV infrastructure. EO's comprehensive Charge Assurance Solution will deliver the following services:
Design & Construction - EO will assist Augusta Transit with design, surveys, permit applications, on-site civil and electrical engineering, charge installation and commissioning, construction management, and training manuals.
Fleet Management Software, EO Cloud - Augusta Transit will benefit from EO's industry leading fleet management system, EO Cloud. This system provides depots with a real-time view of their charging infrastructure through an intuitive dashboard offering detailed insights into the status and performance of all charging stations, promptly addressing any issues.
Energy Management, EO Hub - EO's energy management system will be installed on-site, providing automated load management to distribute energy intelligently and safely throughout the depot. Augusta Transit can utilize off-peak energy tariffs through load management and dynamic charge scheduling.
Operations & Maintenance - EO will provide 24/7 on-site and remote support to ensure >99% uptime of the charging infrastructure through its TOC & Operations & Maintenance Service (O&M). This service includes monitoring, remote interventions, and on-site support if issues cannot be resolved remotely, along with planned preventative maintenance.
