Another year has passed and we’re now getting ready for the Christmas break. It’s not only a good time for us to pause and reflect on what we have achieved over the past twelve months. But it’s also time for us to thank everyone that has been part of our journey and helped us grow as a company. You are the ones that make this business and we wouldn’t be anywhere without you.
Every year for the past 5 we have been saying - “this year is the year.” Well, since last Christmas, the EV market in the UK has developed dramatically and I genuinely believe that 2017 has been the year EVs have taken the main stage. The car companies have gotten serious, the government have made solid commitments and the press have officially gone mad. 2018 is set to be a really exciting one commercially; maybe even “the tipping point.”
Unbelievably, 2017 has been our first full year trading and I’m so proud of what we have achieved. I am super grateful for the opportunities presented to us and some of my personal highlights include: Setting up distribution in over 20 countries around the world; from Australia to Thailand to Spain. Winning an Innovate UK, Mayor of London backed project to install 64 smart-chargers for Gnewt Cargo (the largest installation of it’s kind in the UK). Winning Business Car's Innovation of the Year 2017 award for oureoHUB smart charging solution. Being awarded the contract to fit chargers in all of Toyota's dealerships in Portugal. Winning a number of local authority contracts to install our Pay-as-you-Go destination chargers (rollouts begin in Jan!). And most importantly - we are profitable and growing!
Although I haven’t mentioned any names above - thank you to all of you that brought these opportunities our way. Every day I find it amazing that little old EO is working with global brands, selling market-leading innovations around the world!
So we’re well and truly on the road and extremely excited for what 2018 has in store. Now - go and have a drink on us and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
Oh, and whilst I have you - my favourite quote of 2017: “The fishing is best where the fewest go and the collective insecurity of the world makes it easy for people to hit home runs while everyone is aiming for base hits.” Timothy Ferriss
All the best,
CEO, Founder at EO Charging
